First of all, this bag is cavernous. Not much it won’t hold nor will you be concerned the weight of its contents ripping apart the bag. The construction of this bag is extremely durable.That outer zippered compartment: It is actually useful and holds quite a bit of gear AND it contains an internal organizational pocket as well. It IS WATERPROOF. I store my navigation kit in this compartment and have not noticed any dampness even.WATERPROOF: as waterproof as a duck’s a$$. This bag travels on a kayak in rainstorms and the contents are 100% dry every time. It also sits in the tank well of the Kayak which collects water so it is soaking in a bathtub filled with water for hours at a time without any seepage inside the bag. That impresses me.CONS:I’d like to see some nylon webbing attached to the bottom and top for gear attachments along with a pouch made of the same stretchy material as the bottle holder on the sides, but other than that, this bag is well done.I’d like to see a smaller version of this bag for day use. 25L would be perfect for short trips.I’ve only taken it out twice and it has held up to quite a bit during those trips. I have not noticed any loose stitching, material pulling away from itself nor leakage of water. Overall this bag was a solid investment which will move to the front of the line on bags for regular use.
